A charming and slightly quirky still life painting from the WPA era. Its unusual subject matter and slightly naive style make this piece very interesting and eye catching. Painted in bold and rich colors of rust, greys, yellow and green. This oil on canvas is unframed and in very good original condition. Slight paint loss on edges. Signed, "E. Smith" in the lower right hand corner and dated 1937. Measures 23 3/4" tall by 18 1/4" wide.
