These quite unusual silk ribbons date to the Victorian era and were most likely worn at a club or association banquet. Each is extremely ornate; made of silk with metal tassels and celluloid buttons. They have an American and Russian flag, which leads me to believe that they were part of a Russian/American society of sorts. The workmanship is amazing. "Floor Committee" and "Reception Committee" are bronze-colored metal appliques sewn on each. This must have been quite an event for the members to have worn such ornate ribbons. One measures 8-1/2" long, the other, 10-1/4" long. Each is 2-3/4" wide. Excellent condition. Manufactured in San Francisco print faintly remains on the back of one. A beautiful and unique pair! Price is for the pair. Please select quantity of "1" at checkout.
