Early Hotel Metropole, UK Side Engraved Food Cover
Stunning side-marked serving dome/cover from the Hotel Metropole in the United Kingdom. This fancy hotel opened in 1900 and was demolished in 1955. This dome appears to be from the early part of the 1900's. The side mark is engraved, "BEXHILL-ON-SEA HOTEL METROPOLE," with a wonderful buckle motif. Quite unique. The handle is quite fancy as well. The dome measures 10" long, 8" wide and 6-1/2" tall. Beautiful patina, with very light wear. Manufactured by Mappin & Webb. Lovely piece for your collection!
