Pair of Rare Vintage Fairmont Hotel Crown Room Barstools

These are phenomenal! A pair of c. 1960's barstools from the famous Crown Room at the Fairmont Hotel atop Nob Hill in San Francisco. They are quite rare. I have two in home and was thrilled to acquire these. The "magical" Crown Room was erected in 1961 as part of a 23 story Tower. In its heyday, it was a fabulous restaurant and bar with a spectacular panoramic view of San Francisco. You could ride the glass elevator on the outside of the building to the Crown Room located on the top floor. Bejewelled crowns in glass showcases graced the Crown Room's entryway. So glamorous! It was renovated in the late 1990's and is now used for meeting and conferences.

The barstools are Neoclassical style with pearlized faux leather upholstery. Note the fabulous swag design on the arms and the wonderful detail on the legs. These stools are extremely heavy and the seats swivel. They are made of a heavy base metal and painted white and gold. Each measure 33" tall, 23-1/2" to the top of the cushion, 23" arm-to-arm, and 21" deep. Nice vintage conditiion. There is some paint chipping as noted in the photos. Also, some spotting to the upholstery.
