Lovely large antique alabaster box from Italy. The box has an inset photo of the Basilica of Rome under beveled glass. It has highlights of mother of pearl and is exquisite in person. The box has carved flowers on the lid. It measures 7-1/4" long, 4-1/2" wide and 2-3/4" tall. There are some light areas of wear on the lid, mainly the corners. This does not take away from its beauty. A very substantial piece that is quite old.
