Shapely turn of the 19th century teapot from the historic Hotel Belleview in Clearwater, Florida. The Belleview was opened in 1897. The name changed to the Belleview-Biltmore Hotel in the 20th century. The Belleview-Biltmore has hosted many famous people, dignitaries and world leaders through the years, including U.S. Presidents George H. W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the Duke of Windsor, and celebrities such as Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford.
This teapot measures 7-1/4" tall and 7" from handle to spout. It is very ornate and has a bright, shiny patina. The interior does have wear. The finial on the lid slightly tilts. Bottom markings read, "The Belleview Reed & Barton Silver Soldered 1P." Gorgeous old teapot!
