Delightful c. 1930's eglomise, reverse painted glass lamp featuring a "Romanesque" profile with Latin wording. Beautiful gold leaf highlights under glass with a black background. Measures 29" to the top of the finial, 19" to the top of the socket and base is 6" in diameter. There are areas where the black paint has crackled under the glass giving it an "aged" look. The brass base and socket has tarnish. Felted underside. Manufactured by M. Schaeffer, Brooklyn, N.Y. Wiring is original and with all vintage fixtures, should be inspected before use. Beautiful lamp!
