Exceptional, rare oyster plate from the Mark Hopkins Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill. This amazing serving plate measures 11" in diameter and has 6 deep oyster wells separated by fancy relief sprigs of seaweed. So ornate! The plate is footed with a "Reed & Leaf" decorated rim. Beautiful patina with no evidence of wear. Manufactured by Reed & Barton. Date mark is 1948. Amazing in person!
