1800s French "Odeurs" Wood Inlay Perfume Box

Delightful, rare 1880s French "Odeurs" wood inlay perfume or casket box. This would have originally held perfume bottles. It most likely dates to the 1870s.

The box is made of rosewood and lemon wood veneer. It is beautifully stenciled on the lid with flowers, swirls and "Odeurs" on the lid. It measures 5-1/2" long by 3-1/8" deep and 3" tall.

Excellent condition with a small piece of missing veneer on the back corner. The inlay is in tact and quite nicely done. No key for the lock.

This lovely very early French piece would look great with small bottles such as aromatherapy oils or your favorite small perfumes, or simply a beautiful display piece for your vanity!
