1872 Antique English Oak Silver Plated Fair Exhibition Award Trophy Pitcher

Rare and wonderful 19th century English banded oak and silver plate large pitcher jug trophy for agricultural farming livestock.

The lid of the large pitcher is is engraved "Brackley Old Fair - December 1872 - Presented to Mr R.P Greaves - For Having Exhibited For Sale - The Best Fat Heifer - In the Fair".  

The finial has a beautiful acorn motif and the handle looks like a branch. So unique! It measures 9-1/2" tall and approx. 9" from handle to spout. It is fully hallmarked across the top band, and the maker, J Edmunds 67 Baker Street, London around the base.

The pitcher is in superb condition with an insert. It weighs an impressive 3.4 pounds.
