Chunky Victorian 9K Gold Sardonyx Shield Signet Ring

Elegant, chunky Victorian era carved sardonyx shield signet ring set in 9 carat gold.

Sardonyx combines alternating layers of sard and onyx to create a reddish zebra-striped gemstone with white bands. It is one of three of August’s birthstones. Sardonyx was used in the Middle Ages to counteract the supposedly negative effects of onyx. They felt sardonyx could balance it out.

This fantastic ring measures approx. 11.7mm north to south. It is a US size 8, and it's a perfect size signet that would suit a man or woman. Total weight is 6.44 grams. Ring has complete English hallmarks.
