1920s Hotel Mayfair, Los Angeles Braced Silver Plate Porcelain Teapot
Extremely rare and elegant silver plate and porcelain teapot from the historic Mayfair Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The hotel first opened in 1927.
Sized to hold one cup of perfectly brewed tea, the cobalt blue ceramic pot is braced in a silver plate holder in the Art Deco style. The lid is engraved with the entwined initials of the Hotel Mayfair. The silver collar and knob show a classic acanthus leaf inspired pattern.
The pot measures 6-1/2" from handle to spout and 4-1/2" tall. It's in pristine condition with no chips or cracks.
The underside of the lid is marked International Silver Co. and dated 1927. The bottom of the pot is impressed Hall. The brace is stamped on the bottom with Hotel Mayfair as well.
