1940s Mark Hopkins Hotel, San Francisco Footed Compote
A beautiful c. 1940s silver plate footed compote from the famous Mark Hopkins Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill.
The fancy bowl has the hotel's "MH" log on the the interior. Bowl measures 9" in diameter and 3" tall. It has polished up beautifully with a bright, shiny patina. There are light surface scratches commensurate with age. No silver loss. Quite a heavy and solid piece.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton and stamped, "MARK HOPKINS". Date symbol is 1948.
