19th C. French Gilt Bronze Beveled Glass Vitrine Casket Jewelry Basket

Beautiful antique Napoleon III era French gilt ormolu vitrine jewelry box in the form of a basket.

The box is hand woven with gilt ormolu wire work into a delightful basket form, complete with handle and base rim. The sides are flanked with thick beveled glass panels prong set onto hinged mounts, offering two ways to open the basket.

It measures 5-1/2" tall to the top of the handle by 7-1/4" long by 4-1/4" deep. In good antique condition with no chips or cracks to the glass. We've left the piece unpolished to show its aged patina.
