Bastard lived and worked in the Auvers-sur-Oise region of France and is best known for his landscapes in this region. His work was exhibited at the Salon, the official art exhibition of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, between 1879 and 1897.

This charming impressionist oil features people in a coastal village. It is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner.

The painting measures 11-5/8" by 7-5/8". Painted on a thick piece of wood.

This piece of art would look wonderful hung in your gallery, or propped on a shelf or easel as we have it photographed. It's in superb condition.
