19th Century Paper Mache Inlaid Mother of Pearl Box

Beautiful 19th century English black paper mache box with gold painted accents and hand painting setting off gleaming inlaid mother of pearl flowers.

The detail on the box is beautiful with gilt and hand painting around a keyhole. We do not have the key for the box, but it opens.

It measures 6-1/2" long by 5" wide and stands 2" tall. It opens up to a lovely marbleized interior.

Excellent condition with a tiny bit of wood loss on two of the bottom corners.

The original manufacturer's seal remains and it hard to decipher.
