Antique Sheffield Canadian Northern Steamships Wine Holder
Highly collectible c. 1910 Sheffield silver plate wine bottle holder from the Canadian Northern Steamships. Canadian Northern Steamships Limited was owned by the Canadian Northern Railway and commenced operations in 1910. The company was taken over by Cunard Line in 1916.
This lovely vessel has the ship's raised crest and name across the front. It has a gleaming bright patina with a couple of small dings on the front and back. Additionally, a couple of dings along the base.
It is quite a solid piece and measures 7-1/4" tall and the opening is 4-1/4" in diameter.
The base is stamped, "James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, Hard soldered."
