Antique Christofle Le Grand Hotel, Paris Teapot
Lovely Victorian era Christofle silver plated teapot from the Grand Hotel, Paris, currently called the InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel. Inaugurated under Napoleon III in 1862, the InterContinental Paris le Grand is a 5-star hotel located at 2 Rue Scribe in the heart of Paris, offering guests a magnificent view of the Opera Garnier.
This shapely teapot has the hotel's famous "GH" logo on the front, which they still use today. It measures 5-1/2" tall and 6-3/4" from handle to spout. Gorgeous sparkling patina with in near mint condition. It has a clean interior for an individual service of tea. Only a small bit of tarnish.
Bottom is fully hallmarked for Christofle. I've attached an old postcard image of the hotel from the Victorian era to give you an idea of what it used to look like!
A very rare piece of fine Christofle hotel silver from one of Paris's finest hotels!
