Handsome Victorian oil painting on canvas of a French captain by Clarisse Brintet (1862- ?), a French artist.

The painting is nicely executed and bears the artist's name (faintly) in the middle right.

The wooden gilt frame measures 24-1/2" by 20-1/2". 

The painting has surface scratches but no holes or paint loss. The frame has a small bit of wood loss.
