Antique Splendid Hotel Etoile, Paris Sauce Boat
Large antique silver plated sauce boat and underplate from the Hotel Splendid, Paris. The Splendid (Étoile) is located just steps away from the Arc de Triomphe. Nestled in a beautiful building erected in 1880, the Hotel Splendid Étoile represents one of the most beautiful examples of Haussmannien style architecture.
This pretty piece has the hotel's name hand engraved across the side. The underplate is attached to the sauce boat and measures 10-3/4" long by 6-1/2" wide and the piece stands 4-1/4" tall. The sauce boat is 8-1/4" long which is quite a generous size.
It is in excellent condition with some light surface scratches. It's polished out beautifully and has a nice patina. A very heavy, solid piece. Manufactured by Wiskemann silver.
A Wonderful Parisian hotel silver piece for your collection!
