Early 1900s Plaza Hotel, New York City Crested Platter
Extraordinary early 1900s silver plated serving platter from the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
This collectible and beautiful platter has the desirable raised double P crest on either side. It measures 12" in diameter not including the edges of the crests. It is approx. 1" deep and weighs over 2-1/2 pounds.
I have had the piece professionally polished by a silversmith and it came out lovely. It has a brilliant patina with some light scratches, pitting and small age spots commensurate with age. Very heavy and solid.
The base is stamped, "Manufactured by The Plaza Hotel".
Plaza Hotel pieces have become quite scarce days, so this is an amazing piece for your collection!
