Huge 1880s Sterling Silver College High Jump Award Medal Pendant, 40 grams

Amazing, huge English 1880s sterling silver medal award pendant for college high jump.

This fanciful pendant has the most beautiful foliage surrounding it with a thistle at the top. It is convex and engraved on both sides.

One side is inscribed, "100 yards 200 yards 440 yards HALF MILE 1 MILE HIGH JUMP BROAD JUMP". The reverse is inscribed, "CHALLENGE CUP HOUSE ATHLETICS  - WELLINGTON COLLEGE 1887 HON CLE HD O'GGIBSON".

The medal measures 3-1/8" tall including the bale, by 2-1/8" wide. It weighs 40.19 grams and has English hallmarks on both sides.

This would look phenomenal worn long on a heavy sterling chain or ribbon, or shorter, as a true statement piece.
