Massive Victorian Gold-Filled Swivel Locket Pendant
I just flipped when I saw this large beautiful Victorian double-sided brooch/pendant!
From the 1880s, it is gold-filled with beautiful mount that is embossed with fancy leaf decoration and a secure fastener. The center panel rotates and is referred to as a swivel brooch. Both sides still have their crystal, and can accommodate photos of your loved ones. I actually like the photos that are in it. Quite stately.
The brooch has a C clasp as typical of Victorian brooches. It also includes a bale so that it can be worn as a pendant!
The brooch measures a generous 2" tall by 1-3/4" wide. Total depth is 1/2." Total weight is 24.4 grams.
This is not for the perfectionist. There are a few missing leaves on the mount. Also some chips that are under the crystal. In my opinion, this does not detract from its old beauty.
Truly a show-stopping unusual old brooch/pendant that's over 137 years old!
