Huge 1901 Repousse Officer's Cup Running Trophy Champagne Bucket

Phenomenal huge Victorian silver plated repousse footed trophy or wine bucket!

One side of this ornate 3-sided bucket is inscribed, "39TH GAMES - 7TH REGIMENT ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION - APRIL 13TH 1901-OFFICERS CUP-1/2 MILE RUN-NOVICE - WON BY HERMANN GALIKE MOTHERSPOON." The other side is "PRO PATRIA & ET GLORIA N6", and the third side has a helmet.

The trophy has gorgeous repousse work on the handles, rims and base. It measures 12" tall and 11-1/4" at its widest. It weighs 6 pounds!

This would be a grand size for a champagne bucket or simply an elegant addition to your trophy collection.

It's in excellent condition. There are some scratches, but no major dents or dings.

We've left the patina as is as we like the aged look of this one. If you prefer, you can polish for a shiny patina. Manufactured by Wilcox Meriden.

A magnificent trophy!
