Amazing Large 1903 Victorian Silverplate Trophy Loving Cup
The most phenomenal trophy that I've ever acquired!
This massive three-handled Victorian silverplate trophy has all of the bells and whistles; its large size, hand engraving and design.
The trophy is decorated with a dimensional grapes and vines around its rim and foot. The handles are designed as stylized grape vines. Bases of handles have stylized flowers in an Art Nouveau motif.
The inscription reads, "To Fred Ewald in appreciation of his services to STEREOTYPER'S AND ELECTROTYPER'S UNION, NO 29 of SAN FRANCISCO. JULY 20,TH 1903.
It measures 11" tall and 12-1/2" at its widest from handle to handle. The opening is 8-1/2." It weighs close to 8 pounds.
Manufactured by the Barbour Silver Co. Superb condition with a gorgeous mirror-like patina. No dents or dings. A couple of very small areas of plate loss.
Would look amazing in any room. A real treasure!
