Huge 1924 Roosevelt Hotel, New York 14" Food Dome
From my personal collection, a large 1920s silver plated food cover from the famous Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
The Roosevelt is a historic luxury hotel, located at 45 East 45th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The hotel, named in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, opened on September 22, 1924. This cover dates to the hotel's opening.
It measures approx. 14" in diameter by 4" tall. It has a bright, shiny patina with some areas of silver loss on the lid.
I've often used this as a serving piece flipping it over. Add ice and put your bottled drinks in for a great statement! Or use as a huge serving bowl.
It's manufactured by International Silver Company and marked, "Roosevelt Hotel New York City 1924".
Great early piece!
