Large Historic Antique 1901 Repousse Agricultural Trophy, Henry Campbell Bannerman
Absolutely stunning and historic large antique silver plate repousse trophy presented to a member of the Stormont & Strathmore Agricultural Association by the famous politician Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman (7 September 1836 – 22 April 1908) was a British statesman and Liberal politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1905 to 1908 and Leader of the Liberal Party from 1899 to 1908.
This trophy is much larger than the photos depict. It measures 10-1/2" tall to the top of the handles and 9" wide from handle to handle. The opening is 5-1/2" in diameter.
The trophy has the most gorgeous repousse detail with fancy handles and rim. It's engraved, "STORMONT AND STRATHMORE AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION PRESENTED BY THE RIGHT HON BLE SIR HENRY CAMPBELL BANNERMAN C.C.B.M.P. 1901". British hallmarks on the base.
It's in beautiful condition and really striking in person!
