1899 Victorian English Silver Scholarship Award Card Case
Quite a unique and rare find! Beautiful Victorian English silver award card case with gorgeous engraving.
The case was intended to carry calling cards, money and other sundries. It's engraved, "Presented to Albert Hill Esq. by the 1899 Scholarship Year as a Mark of Their Respect & Esteem."
The case was crafted by a quality silversmith with lovely hand chased scrolls on both sides. It measures 3-1/4" by 2-1/8." It's hallmarked on the bottom for Birmingham 1899 with the makers mark D & F for Deakin & Francis Ltd. Weighs 69.5 grams.
The silver is in beautiful condition with no dents or dings. The leather interior has loosened on the sides but could be glued if desired. Tab closure in excellent condition.
