Rare 18th C. Silver Wax Seal Case w/ Seals
Wonderful find! A rare late 18th century silver plated wax seal case with stamps on either side. One end has a fancy crest, and the other end has a monogram.
The lid of the case flips up and was intended to hold a sealing wax stick. It measures 3-3/4" long by approx. 3/4" wide. The inside of the lid has a mark, but unable to decipher.
Some minor dings and light scratches commensurate with age. The lid closes well, but sometimes needs to be pressed a bit more to hold closure.
A really superb, scarce early piece for your cabinet of curiosities!
