Rare Antique Portola Louvre, San Francisco Teapot/Creamer w/ Postcard
From my personal collection, an extremely rare Victorian-era wooden handled silver plate teapot or creamer from the Portola Louvre restaurant in San Francisco, once located at Powell and Market streets. In its time, the Portola Louvre was once known as America's finest and largest restaurants.
The teapot has the name hand engraved across the front. It measures 6" tall to the top of the finial and 8" wide to the end of the handle.
Lovely detailed bottom rim. The handle attaches to the pot where there is a heart-shaped overlay. Excellent condition with a bright patina. Interior can be used for serving.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton. The pot includes an early colored postcard from the Portola Louvre.
A rare and wonderful piece of hotel silver, and great for San Francisco collectors!
