Rare Art Nouveau Egyptian Revival Real Beetle/Scarab Necklace

This quite rare Art Nouveau Egyptian Revival scarab pendant was acquired from the amazing estate of Sanford and Helen Berger. The Bergers were Art Nouveau enthusiasts and some of their prized collections are featured in the Huntington Library, Art Museum in Pasadena, California.

This spectacular piece features colorful taxidermy scarabs/beetles. The large center scarab has a brilliant, fiery color and measures approx. 1" by 1/2". There are 4 additional scarabs dangling from the lovely setting.

The piece is gilt metal and measure 21" long and approx 2-7/8" at its widest. In amazing condition considering what a fragile and early piece it is.
