Rare Christofle Hotel George V, Paris Covered Serving Dish
Rare and beautiful c. 1920s Christofle serving dish from the famous Hotel George, V, Paris.
Hotel George V is a luxury hotel on avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was built in 1928 and still remains one of the finest hotels in the world.
This gorgeous dish has fancy tab handles with the hotel's name and crest. The lid has both the logo and name as well, but a bit faded over the years.
The generous piece measures 9-1/2" from handle-to-handle, 6-1/4" in diameter and 4-3/4" tall to the top of the lid.
Beautiful bright patina with light use commensurate with age. Interior is clean with a few small spots of wear. Manufacturers hallmarks have worn over the years.
Really extraordinary piece from a fine Parisian hotel!
