Rare Mid 19th Century English Inlaid Mother of Pearl Tea Caddy
Magnificent mid 19th century black lacquer wooden inlaid mother of pearl tea caddy.
The footed caddy is the most beautiful treasure chest shape and the lid opens to hold the loose tea.
The workmanship is simply stunning with inlay on all sides. It is quite rare as it has both lids inside. Most early caddies have missing lids. The lids have a lacquer finish with gilt painting and mother of pearl handles.
Caddy measures 8-3/4" long by 7" deep and stands 5-1/2" tall. It is in pristine condition. The chest closes very securely. There is a lock, but no key.
Quite rare to find an inlaid tea caddy in such amazing shape!
