Rare Moana Hotel, Hawaii Champagne Bucket
This antique silver plate champagne bucket is from the historic Moana Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Silver pieces from the Moana Hotel are one of the most sought after and collectible.
Built in the late 19th century as the first hotel in Waikiki, the Moana opened in 1901. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is currently part of the resort complex known as Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa.
The bucket has the hotel's name engraved in script across the front, dating this piece to the early 1900s. Possibly the year the hotel opened.
It measures 8" tall and the diameter is 8", not including the handles. Piece is quite heavy and sturdy weighing over 4 pounds.
It has a gorgeous "butler's" finish--a bright, sparkling patina. Some small scratches around the bucket commensurate with age. Interior base has some silver loss, not affecting the use of the piece.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton.
A truly marvelous piece for your hotel silver collection!
