Rare Victorian Davenport Hotel, Spokane, WA Ice Bucket

Extremely rare and sought after ice/champagne bucket from the historic Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. The Historic Davenport Hotel was the most modern hostelry in the United States when it opened in 1914. It was the first hotel with air conditioning, a pipe organ, a central vacuum system, housekeeping carts and accordion ballroom doors. It is also the place at which the first Crab Louis (named after Louis Davenport) was created and served. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This rare bucket has the hotel's fancy raised crest on the front and the bucket has quite an ornate motif. Photos don't do it justice!

It measures 8" tall, 10-1/2" from handle to handle and the opening is 7-1/4" in diameter. It is quite weighty at over 5 pounds.

It has been professionally polished by a silversmith and has a gleaming bright patina. The interior has some light wear at the base, and there are some small dings and surface scratches, but nothing to detract from its beauty.

The base is stamped with the hotel's name and is manufactured by Reed & Barton. It likely dates to 1914, the hotel's opening year.

Quite a special early piece from one of the finest hotels!
