18th C. French Carved Wood Petanque Boule Lawn Balls, Set of 5

Perfect for decorating!

A rare set of 5 late 18th century large French wooden balls used for the French game of Boules, which is similar to the Italian, Bocce ball.

These large, heavy balls measure approx. 4-1/2" in diameter and the set weighs 11.12 pounds. They are solid and two of them are carved with linear markings, crossing them into corners.

They would look great as a centerpiece or place one of two on a shelf as an artistic statement.

A wonderful antique set!
