Victorian Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco Covered Creamer
From my personal collection, an extraordinary 1905 silver plated covered creamer from the historic Fairmont Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill. The Fairmont opened just before the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and this piece dates to its opening.
The sparkling piece has the early Fairmont raised crest with the double "F", not seen on pieces produced after the Victorian era. It has beautiful detail on the rim, attached base and finial.
It measures 6" tall, and the base is 6" wide. Beautiful butler's finish. You could polish it more if desired. The interior base has some wear commensurate with age, and the base is a bit out of shape in one spot.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton and stamped, "FAIRMONT HOTEL".
An amazing, collectible piece of hotel silver!
