Antique Ten Eyck Hotel, New York Ornate Tureen
This ornate antique silver plate covered tureen is from from the Ten Eyck Hotel in Albany, New York. It was acquired from a long-time collector of rare hotel, railroad and steamship silver pieces.
The Ten Eyck opened in 1918 and was located at 83 State street, on the corner of State and Pearl street in Albany. The hotel was bought and remodeled by Sheraton in the 1950s and lasted as a business until the late 1960s.
This footed tureen has the most beautiful, ornate rims, handles, lid and feet. It has a stunning patina and is in near flawless condition.
It is a 1 pint tureen. It measures 8-1/4" from handle to handle, 4-1/4" wide and 5" tall.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton and dates to 1918, the year the hotel opened.
