Vintage 1940s Frank Patania Sr. Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Unisex Bracelet, 65 grams
Outstanding 1940s handmade sterling silver & Navajo turquoise cuff bracelet designed & signed by Frank Patania Sr. (1889-1964).
Patania was an Italian designer who migrated to the US & eventually to the Southwest where he opened his Thunderbird shop in 1927. Patania's designs are included in the permanent Smithsonian Institute's Native American collection.
This very heavy bracelet is on the larger size. It's a weighty 65 grams and features 7 turquoise stones accented with silver balls. It is 7/8" at its widest point, and the inside is 6-1/2" from end to end with a 3/4" opening or approx. a 7-1/4" inner circumference. Inside is 2-5/8" wide.
Signed by the artist and stamped sterling. Excellent condition.
