Vintage Claremont Country Club, Oakland, CA Fancy Teapot
Fabulous c. 1926 fancy teapot from the Claremont Country Club in Oakland, California. The Claremont is one of the pre-eminent private clubs in the Bay Area. The 100+ year-old club includes an 18-hole golf course redesigned in 1926 by noted course architect Alister MacKenzie. Truly a beautiful place!
This 1 pint teapot has all the bells and whistles. It has beautiful shape and includes the Claremont's signature crest on the front. It has a fancy rim and decorative handle.
It measures 6" tall and 7-1/2" from handle to spout. Superb, sparking patina with light scratches commensurate with age. The interior is clean and can be used for an individual size serving.
Nice, heavy substantial hotel grade teapot. Manufactured by Reed & Barton and stamped, "CLAREMONT COUNTRY CLUB." No date mark indicates that the piece is prior to 1928. This pot is most likely from 1926, the year the club opened.
A really stunning piece!
