Vintage Colony Hotel, Palm Beach, FL Teapot
Fabulous vintage 1940s silver plated teapot from the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. This landmark hotel was constructed in 1947, and this piece is from hotel's grand opening, making it extra-special. The hotel catered to many dignitaries, U.S. Presidents, and vacationers from the North who would primary arrived (in 1947) by railroad steam liner to resort in Palm Beach for the winter or just for vacation.
The pot has the hotel's name across the front. It measures 4-1/2" tall and 6" from handle to spout. The patina is beautiful, appearing almost unused. The interior has a bit of silver loss.
The bottom is stamped, "Reed & Barton Silver Soldered 1P", and the date symbol is 1947.
