Pair of Vintage Grace Line Menu Holders
These wonderful and rare menu holders/table numbers from the Grace Lines were acquired from an avid collector of hotel silver.
For most of its history, Grace's main business was cargo shipping. To get cargo from Peru to North America and Europe, including guano and sugar, and noticing the need for other goods to be traded, William Grace founded a shipping division. Grace Line began service in 1882, with ports of call between Peru and New York.
Menu holders are extremely hard to come by and highly collectible.
One of my favorite features of these menu holders is that are inscribed, "GRACE" on the base. They measure 4" tall and the bases are 2-1/2" in diameter.
Lovely condition. Nice and weighty bases.
Manufactured by Reed & Barton and stamped, "GRACE LINE." Date symbol is 1951.
A wonderful and collectible pair!
