19th C. Fraternal Feather Hat with Original Leather Box

One of our favorite finds! A 19th century antique fraternal (probably Masonic) black velvet hat adorned with black and white ostrich feathers and a red and gold woven cross emblem on the front. The fabulous hat comes with original shapely leather box which is incredibly rare.

The hat itself appears to be unworn and measures 17" long and stands 6" tall. The hat box measures 20-1/2" long. The box does have quite a bit of wear and peeling, but is amazing to have this original box.

Manufactured by Superior Uniform & Regalia Co. New York and bears the owner's name.
