19th C. European Oil Painting of a Castle, Fancy Frame

Acquired in Europe, a breathtaking oil painting on panel of a romantic landscape with a stone castle situated on top of a green hill.

At the foot of the hill there is a small chapel and a winding path leading through the mountainous terrain. On the right side stands a dense forest, while the entire scene is surrounded by a peaceful, picturesque landscape rendered in warm, atmospheric tones.

Soft light and delicate clouds give the painting a calm, romantic character, typical of 19th-century landscape painting.

The painting has been framed at a later time with a gorgeous gilt frame. It measures 14-1/2" by 12-1/4".

Excellent condition and perfect for your gallery wall.
