19th C. European Oil Painting of a Castle, Fancy Frame

Acquired in Europe, a breathtaking oil painting on panel of a monumental castle rising atop a high rocky cliff.

At the foot of the rocks stretches a dense forest bathed in warm light, while misty mountains and a tranquil sky rendered in subdued, romantic tones can be seen in the background.

The composition possesses a moody and mysterious atmosphere, characteristic of 19th-century Romantic landscape painting.

The painting has been framed at a later time with a gorgeous gilt frame. It measures 14-1/2" by 12-1/4".

Excellent condition and perfect for your gallery wall.
