19th C. Reed & Barton Silver Plate Tilting Kettle

A beautiful c. 1870-1890s Reed & Barton silver plate tilting kettle.

The pattern is distinguished by its heavy ribbed diagonal swirl body and a unique keyhole-hinged frame that allows the kettle to tilt forward securely for easy pouring without being completely removed from the stand. The standing base includes a matching oil burner.    

The kettle has polished up beautifully and has a shiny, bright patina. It holds 16 ounces and stands 10" tall in its cradle and 8" from handle to spout. Superb condition.
