Antique 1899 Double Albert Sterling Silver & Rose Gold Crown Fob Necklace, 68 grams

A heavy Victorian English sterling silver Double Albert watch chain featuring a rose gold and a beautiful silver shield/crown fob by the silversmith Edwin Page (1901-1925) .

Once a part of gentleman's watch chains, they have been beautifully repurposed as a necklace.

Superb quality with nice tight chunky graduating silver curb chain links and with a silver t-bar and 2 secure silver dog clips. It even has a little key hanging from it.

Attached is a stunning antique solid silver & 9 carat rose gold medal with engraved estate/armorial crest and historic presentation inscription on reverse.

It is engraved, "Northants F. Assn. Senior Cup Runner's Up 1899."

The necklace measures 15-7/8" long from dog clip to dog clip. The fob hangs from additional links. Total weight is 68 grams.

English silver hallmarks for Chester 1920 on the t-bar and on one of the silver swivel/dog catches. The other is English hallmarked Birmingham 1917, and there are clear lion passant silver hallmarks on all of the chain links. The silversmiths initials on the bar are "E.P" (Edwin Page - 1901 - 1925), the attached silver and gold medal is English hallmarked Birmingham 1898.

Watch fob necklaces have become increasingly popular for their versatility and antique charm, and are often layered with other chains to create a curated, collected look.
