Georgian English 12K Gold Miniature Woman Portrait Pendant Brooch

This exceptional Georgian pendant features a finely hand-painted portrait of a woman dressed in white, dating to circa 1790-1815.

English in origin, the portrait is beautifully framed in 12K rose gold with a a beveled glass front and back. The glazed compartment on the reverse contains hair--an important detail indicating its use as a mourning piece.

It measures 2-1/2" tall (not including the bale) by 2-1/4" wide. It's in superb condition.
