Georgian English Miniature Woman Portrait Mourning Pin/Pendant

A beautiful treasure from the Georgian era, this large English pendant brooch dates to 1840-1850.

The finely hand-painted portrait depicts a graceful woman in black, her delicate features captured with exquisite detail.

Framed in rolled gold, the reverse holds a compartment with hair, a poignant reminder of it's original use as a mourning keepsake.

It measures 2-1/2" tall by 2-1/4" wide and is very deep. Excellent condition.
