Huge 1926 Mark Hopkins Hotel, San Francisco Crested Serving Dish 17.5"

Photos don't do justice to this extraordinary, rare 1926 silver plated serving dish from the legendary Mark Hopkins Hotel atop San Francisco's Nob Hill. This piece is part of a collection that was acquired from a former chef at the Mark Hopkins.

We've never come across a large serving dish such as this fine example. It has fancy tab handles that bear the early Mark Hopkins crest.

It has polished up just beautifully and has a butler's finish. It measures a generous 17-1/2" from handle to handle by 10-1/2" wide. The opening is 13-3/4" by 9-1/2" wide. Stands approx. 2-1/4" tall/deep.

It's in lovely condition. It has a couple of dings in the interior and the bottom wobbles ever-so-slightly when flat.

Manufactured by Gorham and stamped, "Mark Hopkins 1926".

A rare, great serving piece for a large party!
